Five Things You Need to Know This Week: March 12-18

Here are five or more things that you should know about in Rohnert Park this week!

1. It's the 100th Anniversary of Girl Scouts celebration Monday night in Rohnert Park as well as elsewhere around the county! From 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. at the Rohnert Park Community Center courtyard, our local girls will lead a celebration. Come on out and show your appreciation! Chairs and blankets are recommended.

2. Loot is being performed this week at Sonoma State University. This comedic play by Joe Orton is directed by Judy Navas and can be seen at the Evert B. Person Theatre on the campus. Shows are Tuesday at 7:30 p.m., Wednesday at 6:30 p.m. (faculty/staff night), Friday at 10 a.m. and 7:30 p.m. and Saturday at 7:30 p.m. Prices are from $9 to $16.

3. The Rancho Cotate Band Invitational kicks off its first annuan event Wednesday. Starting at 7 p.m. at the Spreckels Performing Arts Center, come see a variety of bands for only $7 for adults and $5 for kids & seniors.

4. Enjoy the musical styling's of Kingsborough this Thursday night at North Light Cafe and Books. This local blues/rock/jazz group will perform starting at 9:30 p.m. as part of the regular Thursday night happy hour show.

5. Pam Brown Story time is happening again this Saturday at the Rohnert Park-Cotati Regional Library. Kids ages 2 to 6 (with parents) can come down to the library at 11 a.m. to enjoy stories and crafts as well as everything else the library has to offer.

6. One Night Only, the Sun Kings — a premier Beatles tribute band — will play at Spreckels Performing Arts Center. The show starts at 8 p.m. and should be fantastic with the Sun Kings repertoire of over 100 songs on display. Tickets are $24 and available online or at the box office.
