Five Things You Need to Know This Week: June 27–July 3

Biggest little parade around, pancakes and so much more!

1. Tired of not knowing how to access the Internet? Well this Tuesday at the  come down for a free class from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. and get a basic tutorial on how to navigate cyberspace. Sign up is required. For more information please call 707-584-9121 for more information.

2. Don't miss "The Mermaid" this Wednesday at . This lighthearted ballet is about a Mermaid and her two sisters. The story follows her adventures under sea as she falls in love with a handsome prince. The show starts at 7 p.m. Tickets are $20 for adults and $15 for children under 12. The show is being performed by Classical and Contemporary Dance. Click here to purchase tickets online or for box office hours.

3. Another awesome summer program is going on at the Rohnert Park-Cotati Regional Library this week. On Thursday, starting at 11 a.m., kids and families can check out "Images in Motion: What in the World?" Local puppet company Images in Motion presents an original show about a girl who builds a traveling machine out of a cardboard box.

4. Pancakes! The Rancho Adobe Firefighters Association is hosting their annual pancake breakfast Saturday from 7-11 a.m. The firehouse is located at the corner of 11000 Main and Old Redwood Highway in Penngrove. Prices are $12 for adults and $7 for kids. Proceeds go to help keep the local community. For more information call 707-795-6011.

5. is hosing a special Japan relief benefit concert this Saturday, beginning at 7 p.m., presented by the Rohnert Park Sister Cities Committee. The event will feature live music, entertainment and dance. Ticket prices are $10 for adults and $5 for kids. Extra donations are always welcome to help those in need.

6. OK, this is a 6th item on the "Five Things List," so please forgive me. But on Sunday, the "Biggest Little Parade and Barbecue" is going on yet again in Penngrvove for the 36th year. Starting at 11 a.m. on Main Street, the parade will run followed by that delicious barbeque (cost is $6 and $12 for the BBQ). If you have never ventured out for this annual event and love a small town theme then you must stop by. Music by Charlie Baker, games, craft booths and an old fashioned American apple pie contest!
