Five Things You Need to Know This Week: July 4 – July 10

Happy 4th of July, 'krusin with the Kut-Ups and more!

1. In case you just came out of a coma, Monday is the Fourth of July. This means many businesses are closed, services such as banks and government offices are also closed, and people are out having fun. Make sure to be safe and use a designated driver. Also be sure to use fireworks safely. This year Petaluma and Santa Rosa will be having .

2. The Rohnert Park-Cotati Regional Library on Wednesday will have Dan Chan the Magic Man! His performance starts at 6:30 p.m. and is geared towards kids and families. He and his amazing assistant "Ace the Dog" will wow you with an array of tricks and illusions such as levitating a table!

3. More at the Library! On Thursday and Friday the library will host Museum on the Go! This cool program from the Children’s Museum of the North Bay will have hands on science for the whole family. Exhibits are open to the public from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. and demonstrations are at 11 a.m. and 2 p.m. both days. Stop by for a little summer learning and science!

4. The first starts this week immediately after the ! Brain Freeze will be presenting Megamind" at 8:30 p.m. in the vacant lot across from Brain Freeze. There will be room for 50 cars to park in the lot (starting at 5p.m.) or you can bring a blanket and camp out! Megamind is rated PG and has a 95 minute runtime.

5. All Aboard! Krusin with the Kut-Ups will be setting sail this Saturday at Spreckelsts Performing Arts Center starting at 1 p.m. This is the 39th year this hilarious event has been held. Tickets are $15 for all seats. This entertaining Senior Citizen Variety Show is a combination of singing, dancing and comedy. The Kut-Ups provides one of the most genuine shows you will see in Sonoma County this year!
