Five Things You Need to Know This Week: Feb. 20-26

Here are five or more things that you should know about in Rohnert Park this week!

1. Monday is Presidents Day holiday. Most local, state and federal offices are all closed, which includes the post office, city offices and most banks. Get the full list here.

2. The Rohnert Park-Cotati Regional Library has its normal slate of great programs this week — with Wiggle Time on Tuesday at 10:30 a.m. for the 1-2 year-olds, Pre-School Storytime on Friday at 10:30 a.m. for the 3-5 year-olds and Read to a Dog for all kids who like to practice reading, on Wednesday from 3:30 to 4:30 p.m. and Saturday from 2 to 3 p.m.

3. Don't Worry, Be Happy: Handling Negative Emotions Skillfully. This interesting seminar runs on Tuesday evening from 7 to 8:30 p.m. at 21st Century Fitness parking lot in Cotati for a $10 donation.

4. Jazz Sax at Sonoma State! On Wednesday in the Warren Auditorium, come out and enjoy the jazz stylings of Ron Dziubla and his saxophone. The show starts at 7:30 p.m. and cost is $15.

5. Cotati's State of the City luncheon will take place this Thursday. This year it's at the Cotati Room at the Ray Miller Community Center at 216 E. School Street in Cotati. The event runs from noon to 1:30 p.m. Cost is $15.

6. On Saturday at the Rohnert Park-Cotati Regional Library, come enjoy "Monkeying Around." Kids, ages 2 to 6, are invited to join Pam Brown starting at 11 a.m. for story time with crafts!

7. Come out to the Washoe Creek Golf Course this weekend to support the Thomas Page School PTA with a Golf Tournament and Dinner Fundraiser on Saturday. From 1 to 5 p.m., come out and hit the links at Washoe and help raise money for a great local school. Donations vary from $7 to $50. Call 707-792-7700 for more information.

8. "You're a Good Man, Charlie Brown" — showing this weekend, presented by the students of our local Waldorf school, Credo High. This play, based on the Charles Schulz comic strip, starts at 7 p.m. Saturday. Interested? Come out to Credo High School, located at 1290 Southwest Boulevard, Rohnert Park.
