Five Things You Need to Know This Week: Aug 8-14

Sonoma County Fair, Merry Wives and much more!

1. This is the last week for the Sonoma County Fair in Santa Rosa. They will be closed Monday, but run the  rest of the week through Sunday. This is the 75th Anniversary Diamond Jubilee celebration. Horse racing, games, shows, animals and of course rides! The carnival is open from 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. and the weather has been great! 

2. Vaccines for Children are available for Free at the Jewish Community Free Clinic on Tuesday. This is a great chance to have your child's school shots taken care of! A parent or legal guardian must accompany the child. Kids will be taken by drop-in starting at 3 p.m. until 4:30 p.m.

3. Summer weather and Shakespeare outdoors are a wonderful combination. This week the Narrow Way Stage Company presents William Shakespeare's "Merry Wives of Windsor" at the. Performances will be Thursday, Friday and Saturday starting at 7 p.m.; Sunday at 5 p.m. Tickets are $22 each. This play will be performed on the lawn, so bring blankets to sit on and warm clothes if the weather turns cold.

4. Get your BBQ on this Friday for a good cause! The is hosting their 2nd annual summer barbecue fundraiser, starting at 11:30 a.m. at the center. There will be food, fun, music and raffles. Everyone is welcome for hot dogs, hamburgers and ice cream! Tickets are available at the Senior Center Front Desk for just $5.

5. On Saturday from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. swing on by for the "Cruise-In". Classic cars and hot-rods will be on display for the auto enthusiast. The event is free and there will also be a raffle. Marvel at classic Detroit steel while enjoying a slice!
