Work Begins on 46-Unit "Village Walk" Residential Project on East Cotati Ave.

Project approved by city in April 2012 includes 26 single-family homes, 20 units in duplex and triplex buildings and 10 carriage houses.





More than 17 months since home-building giant Standard Pacific Homes received approval to build 46 residential units on a 3.88-acre property on East Cotati and Lancaster avenues, preliminary work on the project site has begun.

The project, dubbed the "Village Walk" subdivision by its developer, includes 26 single-family homes, 20 units in duplex and triplex buildings and 10 carriage houses. It also features a private park and playground to compensate for the lack of backyards of 20 of the 46 units.

Holly Auwinger of Standard Pacific Homes declined to comment on the construction schedule for the project, saying that the publicly traded company would be ready to notify the community in a few weeks about when the project would be finished.

The Village Walk project comes on the heels of Standard Pacific's July opening of the 15-home Veranda residential development just down the road in Cotati on East Cotati Ave. and Breen Way. Veranda's opening marked Standard Pacific's East Bay division's first foray into the North Bay, company officials said at the time
