SMART Board Meetings to be Shown on Web

Today's meeting starts at 1:30 p.m.

Starting  today, the Sonoma-Marin Area Rail Transit District board meetings will be available on live streaming video. The district announced that video will be available on the SMART website, and will be archived on the site for later viewing.

The timing is perfect for Rohnert Park residents who are concerned about the future of the commuter line the , which is among more than $88 million in  before the board Wednesday. 

SMART’s 12-member board of directors holds regular meetings on the third Wednesday of each month, generally at 1:30 p.m. The meetings alternate between San Rafael and Santa Rosa. This Wednesday’s meeting will be at the Sonoma County Board of Supervisors chambers at 575 Administration Drive, Santa Rosa.

Topics on the agenda include a call for public comment on the Bay Area-wide Regional Transportation Plan/Sustainable Communities Strategy, the board’s confirmation of scope and cost-savings recommendations for the initial operating segment of the SMART project, and authorization to approve the issuance of Measure Q sales tax revenue bonds.
