Launched by Santa Rosa resident Deanna Sonni last fall, the company's target audience is busy college students and other night owls who want a late night snack, but not the hassle of leaving the house.

Foodie Call offers everything from Ben & Jerry’s ice cream, microwavable burritos, popcorn, snack bars and even Jello, in short the type of food you’d expect to find at a convenience store.

“The idea is to provide late night munchy food to 20-somethings who are up studying and don’t have time to go to the store,” says the 27-year-old Sonni who grew up in Napa and graduated from the University of Washington in Seattle.

In addition to food, Sonni’s company will also go to the store and buy you cough medicine or cigarettes and deliver them to your door.

Foodie Call charges standard prices for items and a flat $6 delivery fee. Delivery is available around SSU and anywhere in Santa Rosa, with fees expected to be lowered as business picks up.

Eventually Sonni wants to partner with local restaurants, but for now, she’s testing the waters with a basic menu that keeps start up costs low.

“I’m just putting something simple out there and seeing if it sticks,” she says.

FoodieCall delivers 9pm until 3am. For more information, visit FoodieCall.in
