ATM Failures Cause Frustration at Safeway

Locals stocking up for the week at Safeway felt the frustration of ATM failure Sunday afternoon.

There was a whole lot of grumbling at Safeway in Rohnert Park as customers were unable to pay using their ATM cards.

From about 3:45 p.m., to 4:30 p.m., the store was unable to process electronic payments resulting in dozens of shoppers either leaving the store or withdrawing cash from an ATM machine from within the store.

Lines snaked throughout the store aisles as shoppers scrambled for cash. The store was only able to accept cash and check payments while the electronic payments were down.
