Friday:  at Sonoma State University

Original, eclectic and cutting-edge choreography by internationally renowned choreographers Mark Haim and Scott Wells and dance faculty members Kristen Daley and Nancy Lyons are featured in this dance concert showcasing student dancers.

If you go: The concert is located at  Evert B. Person Theatre,1801 E. Cotati Ave. in Rohnert Park.  The concert begins at 7:30 pm.  Tickets are $9 to $16 and free to Sonoma State students.

Saturday:  at Sonoma Mountain Village

Join the fun at Sonoma County Adult and Youth Development’s community volunteer awards ceremony. Besides the many worthy volunteers and awards, "Run for the Roses" will also feature a hat contest, cake auction, silent auction, a buffet dinner provided by , and of course, the Kentucky Derby on the big screen t.v. Take a chance on the horses for raffle prizes!

If you go: The event takes place at in the Plaza Room 100 at1400 Valley House Drive in Rohnert Park from 12-5 p.m.  Tickets are $50 each, and include dinner and complimentary wine. For more information, call SCAYD at: 707-793-9030.

Sunday:  

Celebrate Mother’s Day with a hike beginning at Tolay Lake Regional Park. In partnership with the Sonoma Land Trust, hike along the west ridge and continue on to the Tolay Creek Ranch property. Please pack a bagged lunch for this strenuous 4 ½+ hour hike. Hike leaders will be retired Sonoma County Regional Parks Ranger and Sierra Club hike leader Bill Arenander, and Bob Neale of the Sonoma Land Trust. Day-Use Permit Orientation following the hike at 2:30 p.m.

If you go: Tolay Lake Regional Park is located on Lakeville Hwy. in Petaluma.  The hike is from 9 -2 p.m.
