Weekend Planner: June 24-26

Are you looking for something nearby to do this summer weekend? Check out some of the things on the Rohnert Park Events Calendar and see if there's something for you.

Friday:

It’s officially summer, so what better way to start the weekend then to come to City Center Plaza and check terrific food and great entertainment at the Friday Night Farmers Market. This week’s Party on the Plaza features the band Rovetti and Meatballs, who plays rock, bluegrass and swing.

If you go: The market is open from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the City Center Plaza, 500 City Center Drive in Rohnert Park. Don’t forget your bags!

Saturday:

Join friends and family at this free event celebrating those who have survived cancer, and to remember those lost to the disease. Please join Relay for Life for 24 hours of fun and celebration. All survivors are welcome to join the Survivor Lap at 10 a.m.  If you have never been to a Relay come on out and check it out.. Remember - One Day, One Night, One Community, One Fight!

If you go: This 24-hour events begins at 10 a.m. Saturday and ends on Sunday at 10 a.m. at , 1400 Valley House Drive in Rohnert Park.

Wednesday-Sunday:

From headline concerts featuring Rick Springfield, the Charlie Daniels Band, Blue Öyster Cult (and more), to the Annual World’s Ugliest Dog Contest, wine tasting to Luchre Libre Wrestling, the Sonoma-Marin Fair has it all. Chef demonstrations, and destruction derbies, carnival rides and livestock shows. The Sonoma-Marin Fair includes a wide range of competitions and activities for the whole family to enjoy. This years theme is “Preserve Tradition,” and showcases agriculture, while displaying the diverse talents, interests and accomplishments of the citizens of California, especially the youth of Sonoma and Marin counties.

If you go: Admission at the gate is $15 for adults and $10 for children ages 4 to 12, $8 for seniors 65 and over. Hours are noon to midnight on Friday and Saturday, and noon to 11 p.m. on Sunday. Gates close at 10 p.m. The Sonoma-Marin Fairgrounds are at 175 Fairgrounds Drive in Petaluma, off East Washington Street on the west side of Highway 101 in Petaluma.
