Weekend Planner: June 17-19

Are you looking for something nearby to do this weekend? Check out some of the things on the Rohnert Park Events Calendar and see if there's something for you.

Friday:

Widely acclaimed as one of the world's finest brass ensembles, the Atlantic Brass Quintet has been heard in 48 states and more than a dozen countries across four continents, performing classical and brass music from the streets of Brazil, Cuba, the Balkans and New Orleans. Winner of six international chamber music competitions, the Quintet's distinctive sound, and warm, inviting stage presence have won praise from scores of critics. This free performance by the award-winning Atlantic Brass Quintet is part of the weeklong Brass Seminar held each summer at Sonoma State.

If you go: The concert is 7:30 p.m. - 9 p.m.at , 1801 E Cotati Ave, in Rohnert Park. The concert will be in Room 1028 of the Green Music Center's Music Education building. The nearest parking is in Lot L. Parking is free on weekends and $2.50 during the week.

The Cotati Jazz Festival invites you to bring the family, friends and a blanket for  a day surrounded by music, dancing, food and art! This is a true community event, and includes music by The Gomez Country Band, Keith Andrew Band, Gumbo West and the TracyRose Trio. Other fun and fabulous bands will be playing all over downtown Cotati. Presented by the Cotati Chamber of Commerce.

If you go: This free festival is from noon to 7 p.m. in Downtown Cotati. La Plaza Park is at Old Redwood Highway and W. Sierra Ave, in Cotati.

Saturday:

Join the Early Learning Institute in this year’s Wee Walk. Activities include a giant slide, jumpy house, carnival games and obstacle course. There will also be booths featuring nonprofits, community representatives and local businesses offering information and giveaways.

If you go: Wrist bands are $5. Food and raffle tickets will be available for purchase. The Wee-Walk is from 10:30 a.m.-1 p.m. at the  parking lot, 311 Professional Center Dr. in Rohnert Park.

Sunday-

Come with the family and talk shop with car owners and check out the cool vehicles on display. There will be food and drinks for sale, music, entertainment, raffles and contests. Trophies will be awarded for Stock, Hot Rod, Trucks, Motorcycle, People’s Choice, Best Rat Rod, Best Engine and Best Flames. Register your own cool car here. 

If you go: Free spectator admission, but to register your car will costs $30. The cars will be on display from 9 a.m.to 4 p.m. at Julliard Park, 227 Santa Rosa Ave. in Santa Rosa.
