Violin, Movies and Free Health Workshop This Weekend

Check out some of the fun things going on around town Friday-Sunday

 

On Friday, boogie down to Dgiin at an all-ages show at Redwood Café. Dgiin is a much-loved Sonoma County band that describes itself as French/Flamenco/Gypsy and puts on one memorable show. Starts at 9pm. $10. 8240 Old Redwood Highway, Cotati.

Feeling more mellow? Check out “Margaret,” a coming of age film in post-9/11 New York. Put on by the Sonoma Film Institute. At SSU’s Warren Auditorium. Friday 7pm or Sunday 4pm. $5.

On Saturday, listen to violin virtuoso Anne-Sophie Mutter at Weill Music Hall at SSU’s Green Music Center. Lambert Orkis on the piano. Tickets $35-$90. 8pm Saturday.

On Sunday, turn inward at a free health workshop at Songbird Community Healing Center. At the workshop, shaman Dani Burling will help you discover what can make or break your health and show you the tools and techniques to understand what’s afflicting your body and how to heal yourself. 2pm.
