Saturday:

From the start, this permaculture food forest was a community effort, with "daily actors" volunteering over a course of several weekend workshops to do the initial installation. Continue this work at Pocket Park in Cotati by joining Daily Acts for a fall workday. Revisit permaculture design principles, see firsthand intricate plant guilds in action, taste the honey-suckle sweet nectar of Jerusalem sage, and learn to take raspberry root cuttings — maybe even take some cuttings home for your own backyard food forests. Learn from permaculture designer Patrick Picard and get hands-on experience, while helping with much-needed fall plant & fruit tree care and filling out the landscape with additional plantings.

If you go: Register for this free Daily Acts workshop by visiting this website. The workshop is from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Pocket Park, corner of LaSalle & Loretta Avenues in Cotati.
