Friday and Saturday:

The Friends of the will be holding a book sale this Friday and Saturday. Items available for sale include mysteries and sci-fi, children's books, books sets, VHS's, Cds and tapes as well as books on tape. Don't miss this great selection and remember, Saturday you can buy a bag of books for only $4.

If you go: The weekend sale is from 10 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. at the Rohnert Park-Cotati Library, 6250 Lynne Conde Way in Rohnert Park.

Friday:

The official first Farmers Market and Party in the Park opens this Friday. Bring your friends and family over and check out the great produce and dance the night away to the sounds of the Poyntlyss Sistars Band! You can once again look forward to awesome growers, producers and arts and crafts in the Farmers Market area, as well as terrific food, wine/beer and great entertainment and businesses in the “Party on the Plaza” area!

If you go: This free event is from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. in theparking lot and adjoining City Center Plaza.

Saturday and Sunday: Guadalajara Youth Orchestra to Perform at Green Music Center

Eighty-six children from the city of Guadalajara are preparing for the performance of a lifetime. The children – members of the Orquesta Infantil Juvenil Lomas del Paraiso, a youth orchestra from the city of Guadalajara in Jalisco, Mexico, will perform a centerpiece concert at Weill Hall in Green Music Center.Directed by Jose Antonio Herrera Ramirez, the youth orchestra will perform classical and contemporary works, as well as tangos and other cultural numbers.  A post-concert tasting and reception will take place in the Green Music Center’s Prelude restaurant. On Sunday, Keller Estate in Petaluma hosts a barbecue from noon to 4 p.m., featuring an encore performance by the young musicians.

If you go: Tickets for the events are $150 for the general public, and $100 for Rotarians and can be purchased by clicking here. The $150 event pass includes entry to Saturday’s concert performance, press conference and welcome reception at the Green Music Center, and entry to the Sunday barbecue at Keller Estate. Sonoma State University is at 1801 E Cotati Ave., in Rohnert Park.
