Are you looking for something to do this weekend? Check out the Rohnert Park Calendar and see if there's a market, some music, a parade or a dance for you.

Friday:

Ahhh, Friday’s here and it’s time to check out the terrific produce, food and entertainment at the Farmer's Market. Tonight, Party on the Plaza features J.D. Bauman and the Boot singing their version of California Country; a hybrid of country and good ol’ rock and roll. Kick up your heels!

If you go: The market is open from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the City Center Plaza, 500 City Center Drive in Rohnert Park. Don’t forget your canvas or reusalbe bags!

Saturday:

Bring the family out for Cotati’s 19th Annual Parade and Festival. This year’s theme is “Bedtime Stories,” so come to the park dressed in your best pajamas or favorite character. Participants bring memories of classic fairy tales and stories of adventure, kid-friendly cuisine, music, games and prizes to Cotati, in honor of our finest, and youngest citizens who make our community shine.

The day starts out early with a pancake breakfast (7 a.m.) and the fun continues with the festival in La Plaza Park with games, booths, a diaper derby and more. Come on, pull out your wildest PJs and march with the best of them.

If you go: The pancake breakfast is $5 for adults while kids 12 and under eat free. The pancakes flip from 7 a.m. to 10 a.m. at Church of the Oaks, Page Street & W Sierra Avenue.  At 9 a.m. line up for the parade at Ray Miller Community Center, 216 E School St. The fun continues from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at La Plaza Park, Old Redwood Hwy and W Sierra Ave in Cotati.

Saturday:

Let the dancing begin! A summer evening of Japanese folk dance known as Bon Odori will take place at the Enmanji Buddhist Temple in Sebastopol. This free community outdoor dance is held in Japanese communities around the world as well as in the San Francisco Bay Area during July and August. The dance traditionally honors the ancestors who are believed to return once a year to enjoy earthly pleasures.

If you go:  Free dance lessons will be provided July 12-15 from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. in the Enmanji Memorial Hall, 1200 Gravenstein Hwy.South in Sebastopol. For more information call 707-823-2252.
