SHS & PASF submitted a joint proposal, in response to a Request for Proposal, to provide animal sheltering and animal control services for the City of Healdsburg. SHS will operate a day-use facility in Healdsburg, where the following services will be provided: acceptance of stray, owner-surrendered animals, redemptions of lost animals, and cat and dog adoptions. PASF will provide the following animal control services within the City of Healdsburg: secure animals running at large and perform field redemptions, investigate bite reports and nuisance animal complaints, as well as issue animal licenses, warnings and citations.

The Sonoma Humane Society has plans to set-up a temporary structure and begin providing services in Healdsburg as soon as January 2014. “It is very exciting to expand our operations and utilize our expertise and resources, to provide high-quality care and shelter for Healdsburg’s animals,” says Kiska Icard, SHS Executive Director.  “Together with PASF’s community-based approach to animal control, we are in a strong position to serve the Healdsburg community’s animal service needs.”
