Resident Shot After Interrupting Car Break-In

Shot in face and arms with a pellet gun and transported to hospital

Police have arrested an 18-year-old man who shot another man with a pellet gun after the victim discovered him in the process of burglarizing his car on the 7000 block of Santa Barbara Drive early Friday morning.

At around 2am Friday, the resident discovered a thief inside his unlocked car parked outside his home, according to police. The resident confronted the young man, later identified as Jason Jensen, who pulled out a pellet gun and shot him repeatedly in the face and arms.

An off-duty police officer heard the disturbance and responded to the scene, calling 911. The victim was taken to the hospital by ambulance, where his condition remains unknown as of the time of this posting.

Jensen was taken to Sonoma County Jail and charged with assault with a deadly weapon, petty theft, prowling, possession of an illegal knife and being a minor in possession of alcohol.
